The Interview

Why this name?
It's a mixture between Country and Bluegrass, so we call it Newgrass. The name newgrass was put on progressive bluegrass.
But then again Bluegrass is just a name it's still COUNTRY MUSIC!

Do you play live?
We play Nationally and Internationally although the terrorist threat has caused some concern with flying as well as restrictions on "Carry On Instruments".

We also have been criticized for our support against Child Abuse, and Pedophiles, as well as Domestic Violence, and harsher penalties. There is nothing more special than our children. Just listen to "Through The Eyes Of A Child".

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
In ways it's bringing the music back to the people, if you are touring and have good fan support MP3 won't hurt anybody, it's just a new and advanced way of people being able to listen, and purchase the music. Anytime something new comes out there is always a fight to supress it.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

We were recently signed to a "New" Recording contract with KMA Records Nashville,  KB Promotions Keith@keithbradfordpromotions.com  and have no intention of changing. Keith Bradford (Also President of KMA) and Cashbox Records / Magazine Nashville Office is the most honest person I have ever met in the industry, and he had faith in us when we first came to town, and everyone else wouldn't give us a chance. He is also a true friend.

Also we want to Thank Wayne at Gold Tone Banjos for the fantastic Banjos, and Dean Markley at Dean MarkleyStrings.  If it wasn't for them and the products their companies sell I couldn't get that NGR Sound.

Quite a few people know and some don't, that I am a professional bowhunter when not playing music and working another PT job on occassion and I want to take take this time to thank Lumenok Arrows for their great products! This is the most fantastic invention since the compound bow, I will be using them exclusively on my Video Hunts on BowPro-U.S.A. Also a great word of thanks to Muzzy Broadheads for their fantastic Broadheads which I also endorse as well.

    Band History:
Go to the website just type Newgrass Review in your browser, and we are the first one on every major search engine. We have been Truly Blessed in many ways even though we failed to realize it the significance at the time.

And we like any other Artists, have enemies, that are jealous. So beware of what you hear, or see, here or anywhere else.

Your influences?
Charlie Waller (Country Gentlemen) was one of my (KC) biggest influences, Ralph Stanley, Tony Rice, Seldom Scene, JD Crowe.

Favorite spot?
West Virginia and Tennessee.
